The grass can be greener

The grass can be greener

Why now?

Now, more than ever before, we're all looking to do our bit for the environment. Amazingly the selection of recycled, sustainable, eco-friendly, and environmentally conscious products available have sky rocketed in recent years. It's now common place to have a green option for almost any thing you can think of.

There is honestly no better time than now to venture into the greener side of life, and we want to support our customers in their journey to the eco side.

Start small

As dog owners, you'll be happy to hear there are a number of ways you can make small, easy changes.
Let's start with poop. Obviously we endorse always scooping the poop, but where do you go from there? The simplest step is biodegradable poop bags, ditch the plastic and go green without so much of a second thought.

If you want to take it a step further, consider flushable poop bags, or even composting. There are so many products available in this area, you can go as green as you like, with products available to support you.

Another step into the wild

If you want to do more, we've got you.
Let's think natural, natural treats with little to no processing, are much better for the environment than the highly processed alternatives. Look for air dried, single ingredients, and no additives. Not only are these treats a healthier choice for your beloved pooch, but they are healthier for the planet AND your wallet too!

If we're talking natural, try looking out for natural cleaning products. When you shop for shampoo and shower gel you'd be hard pushed to find one that doesn't boast natural extracts, and no added nasties. So why not buy the same for your pet?
With an array of brands offering anything from natural ingredients, to plastic free refills you can easily work an environmentally responsible outlook into your day to day life.

Another avenue to consider is turning your back on plastic toys. Choose natural rubber instead of plastic, and hemp instead of man made fabric. Try looking for natural leathers, jute or sheepskin for hard wearing, tough toys.
Not only are these eco-friendly, but durable too, making them a positive trade up, both environmentally and financially.

Recycle, recycle, recycle

At this stage in the game we've all heard about recycling, shops do it, there's recycled sections in most bins, we even do it in our homes every day.
But have you thought about recycled accessories for your dog?
Project Blu produce dog beds of all shapes, and sizes from recycled plastic. Their beds are soft and cosy, while maintaining a chic style.
Project Blu believe that cleaning the ocean is not enough. They work with local communities in the World's poorest nations to stop the flow of plastic from entering our oceans. Project Blu has a circular business model which aims to maximise their impact on the environment whilst helping reduce poverty.
What's that? By buying a beautiful dog bed, you could contribute to the reduction in worldwide poverty, and help reduce plastics in the ocean! Go ahead, feel good about yourself, you've earned it.

Don't worry, I know what you're thinking, you want to know what other recycled dog accessories are available. I have one word for you, toys! Yes, it's true, if you're not quite ready to move to all natural toys, how about ones made from recycled plastic?
An ideal middle ground to ease you into a life of eco-friendly joy.

Green is for everyone

We wholeheartedly support anyone who wants to make a change to be more caring of the planet, whether big, or small. Every step towards a cleaner way of life, is a step in the right direction.
We will continue to do our bit as a company and strive to expand our range of eco-friendly products so we can be there with you every step of the way.
